There are currently three telecommunication companies in Zambia, Airtel, MTN and Zamtel with a total of more than 13.5 million customers, representing a penetration rate of approx. 80%.
One of the main challenges was to boost the mobile money platforms of the three operators, increase their Mobile Money user bases and the transactions happening on their Mobile Money ecosystems.
Having the significant aid of our local partner, we proposed to Airtel, MTN and Zamtel the design of a mobile lottery (6/49) game (the first mobile lottery in the country) which would reward its winners via Mobile Money, boosting in that way the operators’ Mobile Money transactions and activations, as well as bring more revenues to the three companies.
